Pete the Cat I Love my White Shoes is such a cute book for kids who may be in preschool （ages 3-6）。 I read it to my preschool class， and they all loved it。 The book is about a groovy cat named Pete。 This cat gets some snazzy white shoes and then accidents happen。 He walks into all different sorts of things， strawberries that turn his shoes red。 Blueberries are next on the list and yet again we see a new color blue。 The brown mud is what he steps in after the blueberries which turn his shoes brow Pete the Cat I Love my White Shoes is such a cute book for kids who may be in preschool （ages 3-6）。 I read it to my preschool class， and they all loved it。 The book is about a groovy cat named Pete。 This cat gets some snazzy white shoes and then accidents happen。 He walks into all different sorts of things， strawberries that turn his shoes red。 Blueberries are next on the list and yet again we see a new color blue。 The brown mud is what he steps in after the blueberries which turn his shoes brown。 Finally， water， and that makes his shoes white again though they are wet。 His shoes go from white to some crazy colors but the whole time he is just singing about his love for his shoes。 He is a laid-back cat， “because it’s all good。” Within the book， you get a very symmetrical view between the words and the pictures。 We also see the use of diagonal shapes within this book showing Pete in motion throughout the story。 I think the colors used within this book would cause anyone to see that Pete is relaxed and that the accidents he gets into don’t bring his spirit down。 We also see that the author has chosen a chalk medium for the illustrations。 The setting in this book is actually or in my opinion appears to be based around the thing Pete is stepping in。 The lack of white on most pages except where the words are though there are words within some of the pictures as well shows me how this book was written not to put an emphasis on the words per say。 The author James Dean is also the illustrator of this cute picture book。 He also self-published this book in 2008。 This book has become so popular I was able to find it in my school's library and on a digital platform as well。 The availability of this book makes it highly recommended in my eyes。 If you have a preschooler or kindergarten-aged child， this book is for you。 Having looked more into this book I have found a whole franchise including toys and other books from this awesome author。 Pete the Cat I Love my White Shoes is a book I wish I knew about when my children were little。 Though I did read this to them when I found the digital copy。 。。。more

I read this twice today with my preschool and pre-K students， and they’re obsessed with it！ 😂 I heard of Pete the Cat but never read any of his books until now。 I also loved it！ 🐈⬛ The moral was really good and presented in such a fun and entertaining way。 👏🏻
